Default Changing the Ping sound ICN610

Hello now before I get jumped on ..I have done a search and read all I can on this

Have download the instructions and the sound file (though that seems to be a bigger size that what was quoted)

this is the instructions

Quote:
the POI alert sound is called default.wav
As you are unable to 'browse' the iCN6xx series via Active-sync, you need to locate the default.wav on your PC then reinstall the software. The file should be in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Navman\SmartST Desktop Version 3 for iCN600 Series\iCN630Bin\Common
Either back up the original default file to another location or rename it. Then cut and paste the downloaded file into the above directory. dont forget to rename to the file default or it wont work!
You will need to reload the software to your device to enable the new POI alert sound.
You now have a voice alert for the safety cameras!
Have tried this several times, and have changed every single file in the common folders (there is a few) to this default sound file.

still wont work.

Now when it says "reload the software"

I presume all you do is connect to the Navman SmartST Desktop for iCN600 series i3_2_1_03 and then run the update???

or is there something I am missing here

sorry about long post

Fraz

just a thought - maybe you need to, "Save to Device"...? Under the File menu if memory serves me correctly.

there is no option of "save to device"

but I think the problem is the file size is to large

heh-heh Keep your hair on Fraz... I don't think there's many of us with 610's you know. Everyone seems to moan about their 500 series. I did wonder if I'd bought a dog, but I'm really pleased with it.
