Default Refurbished NAVMAN iCN 330

Hey guys,
hoping somebody can help here as i have e-mail www.totalpda.co.uk technical support and NAVMAN technical support but as of yet nobody has replied.......

I have recently bought a new iCN 330 navman. On the weekend I attempted to use it for the first time. Following the instructions in the user manual I set up my iCN. However after I attempted to input an address to navigate to, eg pressing 'Address’ on the first 'Go To' page i get an error message 'No MAP data available'. After pressing OK, I get reverted back to the Go To page. I subsequently attempted to access a POI, but the same message comes up 'No MAP data available' and i can go no further. You can obviously understand my frustration, as this device is currently not working as it is designed to. I was supplied with, I assume, a recent GB and IRL map. The code on the plastic casing of the MAP card is UP007125A and the serial number on the MAP card itself is LB003932-G. Apart from this problem, the device is successfully tracked by the GPS and I was receiving a good signal.

Please advise me.

Kieran

Morning.

Did either of you get a reply about how to rectify this problem as ive been using my ICN330 for almost a year now and its been the perfect sat nav. About 3 days ago i needed to use the memory card for something else so i copied the card data identically to my computer, used the card, then copied the files back to the card then replaced it into the satnav, and now its saying it cant find any map data. Please help!!!!

There are one or two 'hidden' files on the card and it appears you never copied them over.

Go here http://www.recuva.com/ and download and install the programme, it's free. It should recover any lost files or folders from formatted discs/cards, providing the data hasn't been overwritten. You may be lucky.

You need to go to My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View - and select Show Hidden Files and Folders.

If you can recover them just copy and paste into the folder you placed the card data backup, and also copy onto your SD Card.

I agree but it's Microsoft who have 'Do not show hidden files and folders' set as default and don't advertise it, which has caused many people many problems when backing up.

Having said that, many of the hidden files and folders could cause a disaster if they are accidently deleted and for other than an average or expert user, they are best kept hidden. I know this because a friend was told by someone how to show the hidden files and folders and promptly started deleting them to make more space on his hard drive.
