Question Backing up tomtom card to get more space

Hi,

I'm having problems with my new Palm TX and tomtom. I have to perform a soft reset each time I want to use the gps. I think the latest update patch might solve this problem but my tomtom card doesn't have enough space on it.

1. Can I delete anything from the card to release the space without compromising the functionality?
2. How do I copy the tomtom data onto a new larger card? Copy from original card onto PC then onto the new one?

Many thanks,

Rhi

1. You can delete any foreign voice files you don't need.
2. Do it just like you mention.

Hi, I didn't have any foreign voices to delete and have bought a 256mb SD card. I have tried copying the tomtom files onto the new one and have installed the upgrade but now when I run Navigator the system comes back with "No maps found!" - all the files have been copied onto the new card so I don't know what else to do....

Wink It works

The problem is not the card or the amount of space on it. The problem is that HotSynch is not working.
Advice to me from TomTom that worked was as follows:-

Please download and install free version of "Card Export" to install the maps at http://www.softick.com/cardexport2/

1.Install and synchronise "card export".
2.Insert the Map cd in the PC drive
3.Accept the licence agreement
4.Select" palm powered"
5.Add maps
6.Select the map to install
7.Select other location
8.Storage card reader(CF,SD,MMC)

Thanks for your reply. Seems tom tom didn't like reading nero backup compressed files for some strange reason...... how come most of my problems come down to user-error?????!

Thanks anyway.

I do hate that User error message too. It gets very frustrating.
