TomTom6 and hp ipaq 4150 Please help me - I'm sobbing with frustration. I've had the ipaq since 2004, with TomTom3 installed. Many years of joy, no problems. Have just bought TomTom 6 on memory card, and prior to installing it, upgraded the ROM on the ipaq to 1.10.03 and Activesync to 4.5. (not sure if that's relevant). Then restored all my stuff from backup. so far so good.
Then I inserted the tomtom card, and immediately got a message that said "cannot find TomTom navigator (or one of its components) Make sure the path and file name are correct ..etc." Re-inserted card twice. no luck.
Then I put the card in the card reader on my pc and cant see the files on explorer either. Note I haven't activated the program yet or anything, just tried to install it. The ipaq sometimes recognises that there is a card inserted, other times it asks me if I want to format the card to make it readable (NO!). Other times, tells me the card has the whole 2.85 gb free, as though it is not recognising any content on the card, and other times the "missing file" message as above. Is my TT6 card damaged or is this normal?
I tried the CD and that just installed TomTom home to my pc. Even with my ipaq in the usb cradle nothing seems to happen. The installation instructions just say to insert the card and connect to the gps (but that's in my car - surely I need to do something online while the ipaq is connected to the pc first?)
I've tested the card reader with a card from my camera and all is fine, it is working well and recognises the files. So please can someone tell me what to do? I checked carefully with TomTom that TT6 was compatible with the ipaq4150 and so I just dont know what to do. I really cant afford for this not to work.
Please could someone give me some advice, either on installing or diagnostics, and please keep it very very simple - i am well out of my comfort zone here. This has taken me 3 hours so far, with no progress.
