Align screen faulty mio168

Hi all,
Mio 168
After a hard reset the align screen keeps repeating itself and won't progress.
The cross hairs move to the next step but then return to the start once all have been pressed.
Mitac reckon the screens faulty, but yet it responds when I touch it.
It is as if the operating software is locking up at this point.
Any ideas.

I found this happened to mine if I never hit the crosshairs spot on. Slow and gentle, with a pause between each, was the only way I could get it to do as it should.

try to push the cross a litte under the middel. all of them. if this not working you lcd is defect
