Default GPS Stopped working on Mitac 168

Hi All,

I have had 6 months of great service from my mitac, but it seems to have stopped receiving the GPS signal, I have reloaded tomtom3 - reset the pocket pc but still no signal - it shows that it is trying byt the dots lefdt to right on the Status page, any ideas.

Which type of GPS have you configured it under? on Hard reset mine defaults to wireless GPS, but only works if wired GPS is selected.

I have set it with wired, settings under GPS TomTom Navigator GPS - using Serial Cable on SP2

Should be set on serial 1.

sometimes the Mio 168 loses this port, the only way to get it back is to

Turn The Battery Off
Restore from backup
Connect to TomTom GPS reciever.
Turn power on the GPS Lead.
Turn on Mio 168
start the tomtom software and it should now see the GPS reciever

The settings should be NMEA 0183v2 in the top box and Serial Cable on SP2 in the bottom box, that is how my Mitac mio168 running TT3 is set and it works perfectly.

It actually doesnt matter if you select TomTom Navigator GPS or NMEA as they both do the same thing. The important part is the Serial Cable on SP2 as the MIO168 has its receiver built in and will not operate on COM1.

I have mine set to TomTom cable it works on this or NMEA
