Exclamation Mitac Mio 168 and TOMTOM5

Hi,

Just started using TT5 on my 168 pda, previous had used
CoPilot4. Now I am having problems getting good satallite
positioning, previously Copilot auto-detected COM2 for the
onboard GPS receiver. But in TT5 it only has a possibility of TT
cable GPS or Other cable NMEA GPS... but on choosing either of
these there is no COM2 option. sometimes I might get positioning
but not very quickly from cold start

Only options:

Serial Cable on SP2:
Serial Cable on Com1:
Com3:

Anyone know the correct setting for the Mitac Mio 168 ?

TIA, Gary.

Welcome to our forums.
I have been told you just need to select the TomTom cabled receiver option.

I have a Mio 168, when you start TomTom and go to settings/GPS/configure and select cable GPS there is no option to choose a port! Mine works fine a little slow from cold but otherwise ok.

Serial Cable on SP2: is the option you want with NMEA (baud 4800)
It will also work by choosing TomTom cable (then you get no other options choices)
