Question Mio 168 Tomtom and traffic update

Wondering if anyone can help?.
Is it possible to download traffic updates while in a car from the TomTom web site using GPS, or do i have to connect to the Internet via my mobile phone?.
If i bought a bluetooth card, would i not have to remove the TomTom SD card?, so where would it update to?
Lots of questions, sorry.

Welcome to our forums.
You wil need to use your phone to do it. You would have to remove the TomTom SD card to use a BT card. You could try Infrared Red to connect the PDA to the phone but its fiddly since the PDA and phone have to be in line with each other to maintain the connection. Makes it difficult in a car when the IR port on the MIO is on the top of the PDA.

Thanks Charlie. This may be a stupid question, but what do you mean by a BT card, and if i take out the TOmTOm card, how can i update it.
I think the Infra red is the best option, but i have never used it before in that way. Do i just use it as a modem?
