Smile Mio 168 (Typhoon MyGuide 3500mobile)

Hi there,

I have a typhoon MyGuide 3500 mobile.
I understand that this is the same as a Mio 168?

Im new to this game and dont really know what im doing... Can I ask some questions in the hope of finding aout a few things about my pocket pc?

1) What do I need to do/buy to enable me to access the internet? Can I buy a modem or something for it?

2) My Pocket PC comes with Falk Navigator... Can I install other navigation programs cos Falk is a bit useless in my opinion.

2a) If I can install other software, what is a good program? Do any cover europe as well as just the UK??

3) Can I increase the memory of my PDA from its useless 64mb? Can i install programs to a new SD card or does it need to be actually in the PDA memory?

4) Do i need to update Windows Mobile like I do Windows XP? if so, is that done through my normal PC or do I need to sort out question 1 to be able to do this!

5) Ive lost the end of my stilus... I have found a site that sells a pack of three for £2.40 - are all stylus universal?!?!?

Thanks for being patient - sorry for all the questions but I think after this I will understand more. I think I've got in front of me, potentialy, a really useful bit of shiny electrical equipment... but at the moment its a little lame (although at least I cant get lost!!!)

Hello
1) access to internet: you can access the internet from your PDA thru the usb cable and the activesync or you have to buy an SD-IO wi-fi card (in this case you of course also need a available wi-fi)
2) you can install another navigation software
3) my preference goes to tomtom (cards are available for all europe)
4) you do not need to update the windows mobile (as for Xp for example)
5) the stylus are not universal. but in your case .you can buy stylus for mio168 or typhoon 3500 or bluemedia 255 or ...

Is your PDA in english? I have the same model but with a german version of windows! I'm looking for an english version suitable for the typhoon 3500 mobile.
If you have such a pda , i will ask you to take a backup of the rom. There is a special tool to do this: ftp://ftp.handhelds.org/distribution...ader-1.5.6.exe

Thanks a lot
