Unhappy Ton Tom5 And mio 168

Hi all,A few weeks ago i got a micromax pda,apparently a mio 168 clone.
This came with medion navigon navigator 5,which tho i have no problems with so far,i have been told by friends it is inferior to tom tom 5.
I have borrowed a copy to see if it is worth changing and installed it on a spare sd card, after finally getting it installed the maps show my adress but i cannot get it to find the inbuilt gps antenna,i`ve found the setup optoins for the gps but tried every option i can think of with no success, any ideas folks.
My apologies if this been asked b4 i apologise and if it something simple age has made me computer illiterate. Many thanks for your time,Neil

You say 'have borrowed a copy'.

The maps are linked to a device and product code, these produce an activation code for the maps.

The maps have not been activated on your device.

TTN5 works perfectly on a 168.
