Default Can't Find the GPS

I have a MIO A201 and am currently on holiday in the US. I have loaded PrymeNav US maps and initially got the system to work OK. However, for no paticular reason, the MIO stopped finding the GPS. I have uninstalled PrymeNav several times and reinstalled it, to no avail. It still can't find the GPS. I have robooted several times and tried all the ports on the handheld, no joy. I am beginning to think the GPS attachment has packed up. Has anyone had a similar experience and any advice to offer. In general, the MIO works OK on non-navigational stuff, although it is very prone to freeze up without apparent reason.

it sounds like your software as closed the gps port or the baud rate is wrong, try setting different baud rates in your gps settings and look around the web for an open exe file of the software your using that will overwrite your exe file in your satnav software folder on your device, because some software companies like tomtom for instance need you to activate your software with them before it will open the port to use gps or it just wont find any gps, this is to stop piracy , so your software may need re-activating or reinstall new satnav software like tomtom or destinator that way you will then know if it is an hardware problem or not!
