Default mio 268

hi i wonder if anyone can help ? i had a m8s mio 268 at my house and plugged the usb lead into it and it snapped off inside so i took it to bits and refixed it as it was but now i cant install the sat nav bit back on it when i plug the usb lead in it shows me on the screen that its connected but when i try and transfer anything it says sat nav not detected ..
if anyone has any ideas on iinstalling the say nav back on it without the usb or if anyone possibly knows what else it could be much help would be apreciated as i cant afford to replace his :*(
