MIO 268 Connection Problems

Hi,

I have inherited a MIO Digi Walker 268 from my father in law. All I got was the unit and a usb lead. I have downloaded the usb driver and miosync, then installed them. Miosync asked for a few missing dll files which I added, however it would not sync. I installed activesync and the same thing, device not connected. My PC device manager shows the device listed as a USB device but the device cannot be accessed from anywhere, and the sd card does not show as a removeable device. When I plug the unit in I get the usb graphic and then it flicks to a screen where a finger is point at the sd card and has a cross next to it. I presume this means theres a problem with the card or it's configuration. Could anyone please advise if I am missing something, is there a patch I need or something like that. I have tried two different cards in the slot and the result is the same. It's almost as if the unit is asking for an original card.
