Default Ipaq 3950 Problem/s

Ok got one of the above with a Navman 3400 GPS receiver. Hard reset the PDA and installed the SmartST Pro software to the PDA. Clicked on the shortcut on the PDA but was told I needed to activate the software. So left the PDA in the cradle and clicked on the activate button from the cd menu, Agnitum Outpost Firewall asked to block/allow the connection. I allowed it access to the net. No joy, software came back saying no Internet connection available. I double checked my Sky DG934 Netgear Router and the HTTPS TCP port 443 was being blocked so I changed that to allow all incoming and outgoing connections. Still won't connect. I am thinking of opening the wireless side of my Router as it's hard wired at the moment, i.e. CAT5 cable. But I'm a bit dubious if this will even work. I've noticed on the Ipaq that their are 3 network adapters, should these be setup at all or left as they are? The Navman software came on 2 CD's and the product code on the back of the wallet starts: SSP-191-xxxxx-xxxxx does this mean that it's version 1.91 of the SmartST software? Any help much appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out.

p.s. I have tried all of the above from a totally different PC, still same result.

Found out what the problem is/was. The software was out of date. Navman sent me 3 discs with the latest software for that version of the navman sleeve.
