Navman S50 European Maps

I seem to able to access european maps and have had a route calculated to a town in Germany on my S50 which is supposed to only work in the UK and Ireland. I did this by unchecking the item in the menu that said "Avoid Ferries".
Does anyone know if it will actually work on th continent as we are due to drive to Germany on Sunday 9th August?

Now what is the result? Did it work on the continent when you drove to Germany?
