What PDA & GPS for Marine Use

Hi,

I've been looking into PDA/GPS options for little while and seem totally confused by the range of options. Therefore I need an expert opinion.

I need a GPS for my boat and I thought I'd get a PDA/GPS kit as it's more versatile than a standard GPS.

My initial investigations have lead me to think that the Ipaq5550 and the Navman 3450 are a good bet. Could someone please let me know if this is a good package together, or suggest an alternative?

Also, I will need Marine software that covers the Channel Islands/Northern France. Any thoughts on a suitable product that you could recommend?

Welcome to our forums.
The Navman 3450 and the iPAQ H5XXX are not strictly the best option as we have had reports of compatibility issues with these two devices. Your options then would be based around a wired or bluetooth system. For software I would have to recommend Memory-Map. Have a look @ http://www.memory-map.co.uk/maptech_marine.htm .
