Unhappy Navman Problems

I have an iPAQ H3850 and a navman GPS sleeve. I have loaded in Tom Tom navigator 3 but can't get it to recognize the sleeve. I have downloaded the serial drivers from the navman site but the software still doesn’t see the sleeve. Can anyone help?

I believe it's custom designed to attach to the iPAQ 3600, 3700, 3800 and 3900 pocket pc's. the number inside the sleeve reads 2-8-A-02-0885 but thats all the information I can see other than "designed and manufactured for Compaq iPAQ PC by Navman NZ Ltd" I purchased this of ebay and the battery went flat and I lost the original software which was copilot.

Hmmm, There are firmware updates available on Navmans sight for the sleeves but you need to know which one you have. Have a look @ http://www.navman-europe.com/support.php . You might be in luck and find the right update.

I have read a document which suggests that this sleeve is a 3000 series. When I attach the sleeve it initializes but asks for the location of the driver for the card, when I start the GPS info tool it tells me that the sleeve is not present. Any advice?

Go to Navmans site (linked above) and get the Serial driver version 3.1.6.

I have downloaded and installed the driver but the iPAQ still dosn't recognise the sleeve, do you know which com port it should be set up to look at? Tom Tom has a setting for Navman 3000 sleeves but when you select it it dosn't let you choose a com port it only offers GPS. I may need to try and get hold of the origonal copilot software.

You shouldn't need to select a port. Is it a 3000 sleeve for sure?
