Default Navman sound

New user with Navman4410 & IPAQ2210. Impressed with the set up so far (despite a couple of glitches where I've been told to turn right off a motorway !). Less impressed however are people I'm on the phone to (hands free of course) whilst IPAQ is chattering in the background. I'm not willing to wire the unit into the car but presumably there's an easy way of programming one of the IPAQ buttons to mute the sound rather than having to press the off button if it all gets too much.

Any suggestions gratefully welcomed.

Welcome to our forums.
There is no way of assigning a button in SmartST to do it....neither is there a way to assign a mute function using the settings of the PDA. Anyone know of a 3rd party app to do this?

Have also tried HP's support line with no joy so it looks like a 3rd party app is the only way forward (or headphones but that rather defeats the object !).

Any thoughts anyone ?

You could get an external speaker with a mute/volume control that connects to the headphone socket.
