Default Sat Nav not working.

I have been using a IPAQ 3870 and Navman 3450 software and jacket very sucessfully all over Europe and UK for just over a year. Have had some minor issues where it got confused but mostly OK.
My problem is that as of last week the unit cannot seem to find the Satellite signal. Keep getting waiting for GPS message but it never seeems to find it!!
I have reloaded Navman on to hand held , deleted all maps and reloaded them. Have set the unit up in garden (not in car so no issue with reflecting screens.)
When I tap satelite status I have number 1 with green square next to it then N 0 00000 E 0 00000 half moon of bars is empty. If I tap the number 1 I get a red 0.

Any suggestions .... is the jacket knackered ? Do total PDA undertake repairs? Is there anyway other way I can check the unit?

Like Nicky said.
I would hard reset and start from the beginning.

And sorry but we don't do repairs.

Txs for the welcome.
I didn't configure - I must say, my son did the installation at first (yes, it did work!) - now, I try to do this without his help - but, .....

Then check the documentation that came with the PIN, there should be a yellow sheet that tells you the settings you need to configure.

One way or the other, I already did that (found it on the Navman-site/support).
Sorry, didn't understand your previous question (technical terms sometimes remain a mystery for me).
