Default Navman 4410

Has anyone had a chance to look at the new SmartSt v2 software?

I was tempted by the TomTom Navigator but apparently Navman's offering now includes a 3D view and post-code search.

My questions to anyone who may have seen this are:

Is it possible to flip between 2D and 3D views?
Why is the postcode finder only 5-digit? What use is that?

Dave

I bought a Navman from www.totalpda.co.uk today. Should arrive tomorrow. It would have been the TomTom - but I saw that the Navman has been updated to include the 3D and Postcodes. The 5 digit postcode confused me as well. TotalPda only received the new software today so they won't know too much yet. I will be testing over the weekend - so I will have something to report next week.

I have just bought the navman 4410 in rather than the TomTom as there is a lot of chat about the TomTom hanging when used with iPaq 2210. How is the 4410 going?

Unless I'm sorely mistaken, my TomTOM (for T3) used 5-digit postcodes as well. I think the idea is to get the region correct first. I.e. You type in CR3 0 and it brings up Caterham. From there you can choose the road and house number you want. I guess it's a storage issue - the amount of extra required to house those 100,000's of final suffixes.

It does seem to work fine for me - except when you don't know the house number of the eg. shop you're after.
