Default TMC and NavMan S80

I've recently bought an S80 but cannot get any TMC information. The list of TMC sources remains empty, apart from the 'Automatic' option, so it doesn't seem to be getting any FM radio signals (there is a transmitter close to home and another close to work).
Any thoughts, please?

thehornets,
Yes you are right, As a long time Navman user, I have found out with all the traffic modules they need to be powered to pick anything up.
Only the S90i with it built in can run off the battery power

Default S80 no TMC signal

I have my S80 in the TMC cradle, powered by the cig lighter and with the antenna connected (antenna tried taken outside car window as well) and can't get any signal.
Will take it on the road this weekend to try different areas but not hopeful. Anyone have any joy with TMC on the S80?
Tom

Default TMC sorted

Got my TMC working now, I followed the instructions in the email below from Navman with the exception of one point. I didn't plug the antenna into the headphone slot as described below, I plugged it into the antenna socket on the TMC cradle.
A return trip of 65 mls with connection to Classic FM's reports was most welcome after the frustrations of the last few weeks messing with my S80.

"Dear Tom,
Thank you for your response.
Please make sure that the antenna is not touching metal when stuck on the windscreen. It needs to be at least 3 inches away from metal (the edge of the windscreen), and also placed vertically up the windscreen as this is the best position for the antenna to pick up traffic data.

Please ensure the TMC Traffic wasabi antenna is plugged into the "headphones" slot (which is the bottom port on the left hand side of the device where it is signed TMC on the grey rubber cover, refer to page 5 of the Quick Start Guide no.6 of the diagram) then please ensure the antenna is set up in an L shape on the windscreen, and the antenna is not touching metal.

Once you have picked up a TMC signal, you will notice the default FM receiver will be set to Classic, if you are still having problems you may need to re-position the antenna into a vertical setup until you receive your first connection, and upon receiving the reception re-positioning the antenna into the L shape.
Please note: FM transmission is always received better in a moving vehicle rather than when stationary.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Kind regards,
Agnes"
