Default F10 start up problem

Got an F10 which freezes afer the 'installing maps' progress bar is displayed. Any number of attempts produces the same result. Have tried applying a service pack but just comes back with not enough disk space error message. Suggests deleting some contents to make room but browsing through the files does not give me any clues as to what could be deleted.
Is there a reset option similiar to the one on a 'tomtom'.
Suggestions greatfully received or it's going in the bin !!
