Lost in Space is on a distinguished road

IE version number

I have upgraded my Ipaq 5450 to PC 2003. So far so good. One important site for me to access will not allow me to login saying Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher is required. Is there any upgrade or way of making the installed IE appear as version 5.5 or higher. A colleague of mine has managed to overcome the problem on his Sony/Ericsson by downloading and running Opera, but that is not an option for PC2003.

Any help gatefully accepted.
