Default Com port won't open for GPS

Hi everyone,

This is the problem. I have happily been using a Orange SPV M100 running Tom Tom 3 fed witha GPS signal by a (classic) Road Angel. Due to damage sustained to the PDA I have had it replaced with an identical device. Now everything has been reinstalled I discover that the Ton Tom software complains that it cannot open COM1: Port doesn't exist. It suggests another application is hogging the port but I don't know what as far as I can see there is nothing that requires it. Anybody any ideas?

Welcome to our forums.
Tap on START --> SETTINGS --> SYSTEM --> BEAM and untick the box, reset the PDA and then load TomTom.

Hi Charlie,

Many thanks, it was driving me crazy. One pedantic pointer, it's connections not system where the beam option is.
