Default SPV M1000 charging problems

Bear with me on this, it's a long story! After owning the original SPV and getting on with it, I decided to upgrade and purchased the M1000 from ebay. It came with a usb charger and that was it, suspicions aroused. I found after about 3 gos that the usb charger would no longer charge it, it seemed the plugs wouldn't fit in so I threw that away (I believe it's a non standard part anyway) and ordered the cradle charger. I can now charge and sync my phone but it will only run off the usb, if you try to charge mains only it just switches off. I can cope with this but am worried about the amount of times that the connecting board seems to bend or the pins get out of line. This never happened with my old spv. It's brand new but I daren't take it to a repair shop incase it turns out to be stolen and they take it off me, any advice?

Welcome to our forums.
Have you contacted the seller with your concerns? Thats where I would start.

I have contacted him yesterday via email to see if there's any reason why I shouldn't take it to an Orange shop but as yet have received no reply, he has ignored a mail of mine before but has also answered other ones quite quickly - I'll keep you posted.

The seller has ignored my mails so I have spoken to Orange. They have confirmed that the phone isn't stolen (my major worry) but are not sure if it's still in warranty. Luckily I paid by paypal so hope to have some comeback if the ad isn't true!! I'll still keep you posted and thanks for your reply Charlie.

Shame he's not responding to your mails. Makes it look bad. Good luck with the warranty side though.

The phone is under warranty - hurrah! However the repair company said if the board is bent then it is customer misuse and they want £70 + VAT for it to be fixed. How it can be misuse when it is only plugged in and out of a charger, I don't know so guess I'll wait a while. Unless anyone knows some one who can repair for cheaper than that!!
