Sounds like a problem with Orange.

All messages should be ammended by the SMS server with +44 automatically. Might be worth asking them to deactivate and reactivate SMS on your account.

Do you have the same problems with MMS? Ie send a test message to yourself (you won't get billed) and see if the message shows 07 or +447. If the first, then could be a problem with your SIM card. But try getting Orange to reset the MMS awell.

Keep us posted.

Have been on the phone to orange most of the day. The first thing they tried was updating my sim but that didn't work. Then they tried deactivating and reactivating but that also did not work.
They have now passed this on to their technical team and said they will get back to me.
Have not tried with mms, shall try tomorrow. I did suggest to orange that i try it but they said it would not be related and to try get text messaging working before worrying about mms.

Will let you know what they say!

Cheers for the reply

Matt

Is this a brand new phone/contract? If so, get a replacement under the 16 day guarentee.

If it's something which has just happened, can you remember any changes made on the phone or sim updates?

Might be worth asking on news://uk.telecom.mobile to see if any of the tech bods there have a clue.

Did you try, and does MMS work using '0' ?

Check your message centre is set correctly. Also how is SMS set to send? As text, or via GPRS?
