Unhappy tomtom navigator 5 ,spv m2000 and resetting

I have TomTom Navigator 5 loaded on my SPV M2000. If I do a soft reset(because the phone stops working or one of several hundred other problems) it disables Tom Tom and I am unable to use it. If I select it,It looks like its going to open and the TomTom icon appears at the bottom of the screen but it just fails. The only way to get it going again is to do a complete hard reset which means having to re-enter all my server/sync details etc and reload TomTom from scratch.
To say its annoying is somewhat of an understatement. Be much obliged for any ideas

Check that you haven't got a load of other programmes running in the background. Go TODAY, SETTINGS, MEMORY, RUNNING PROGRAMS and stop the ones you don't need. This should alow Tom TOM to open up and run. I get a similar problem especially if active sync is still listed in the running programs list.
