tomtom 5.0 conifguration with orange spv m5000

I have helplessly been trying to configure my gps bluetooth device with my Orange SPV M5000. i was advised to disable com port 6 then try and use com 6, but it does not work, does anyone have a fix please!? i am using Tomtom 5.0
