Default SPV M2000 and bluetooth handsfree Car kits

I cannot get my SPV M2000 to pair up with the Bleutooth handsfree car kit supplied in a BMW. Has anyone any idea on how to get around this problem or any suggestions as to software upgrades etc. Help would be much appreciated.

Have you used the pairing code of 0000?

Also, make sure you have authorised device enabled.

Thanks for coming back to me. I didn't even get as far as a pairing code. Neither the SPV M2000 or the BMW bluetooth car kit recognise each other. Ie the pda doesn't detect a bluetooth device and neither does the BMW's bluetooth car kit ( I drive)

The kit is passive, so it *should* broadcast it's presence, yet won't poll another device without first being paired.

If you can't see the Car's BT kit, then you need to talk to the manufacturer/supplier to ensure they've enabled the BT option and you don't have a fault with it.

Have you tried another phone with it?

Hi, the car kit is broadcasting and has paired with my wife's Nokia 6230. I have tried deleting this pairing and then attempted to pair up the SPV M2000 but neither device seem able to discover each other!!!

I would ask this at http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discu...id=accessories

Maybe the Carkit installers there might know what's wrong.

Thanks will do. Just spoken to Orange and they reckon I may need a new handset. (standard response althhough I can't criticise them for it as they did despatch one to me next day when I had a previous screen problem)
I don't think this will rectify the problem at all as an XDA IIi that I had before would not pair with a Sony Ericsonn car handsfree bluetooth kit either.
Do you know of any other pda phone devices that state they have bluetooth car kit compatability?

The kit should be compatable - as anything BT should work. The reason for the fault is unclear.

Try a new handset, if not then I suspect a fault with your carkit. Either way the friendly folks at the Nokia forums should be able to confirm compatability of your handset and carkit.

Anything bluetooth should work and quite often doesnt.

There are certain cradles or headsets that just wont work with with certain phones or handsets. Generally it will be a software issue more than anything else.
