SPV M700, Storing/transferring text messages

I have an SPV M700 ut i think this applies to most PDA's. I have about 100 text messages stored on it and the phone is going in for a software flash meaning it gets wiped. I have managed to sync and transfer everything else on the phone to either the memory card or my desktop, but there is no option for text messages. Please help
