Sync issues after installing Outlook 2007 on pc

After an upgrade to Microsoft Outlook 2007 I have been unable to perform a hotsync on my Calendar (prior to the updgrade I had not problems)- I tet the following message:

<LI class=liBullet> This handheld is associated with a different Outlook profile. To synchronize with that profile, close Outlook and synchronize again. To use this device with the current Outlook profile, open the HotSync custom dialog and change the conduit settings to use this Outlook profile. See the Outlook conduit help for details.
however I have been unable to solve this issue....has anyone any suggestions? I am on day 3 of the search for solutions.

Start ActiveSync on your desktop and choose File/Delete Mobile Device. Close ActiveSync, plug in Mobile Device and try again.
