zire 21 or 31

i am considering buying either the zire 21 or 31.
i know the 31 is faster, colour screen and plays mp3s, but does the 21 allow you to use excel sheets? does the 31?

surely i get some software in the pda pack? i have excel on my pc if that's what you mean?

The zire can't read/write excel files out of the box.
You would need to buy some software to load onto it to enable it to use them.
An example would be Tinysheets from http://www.iambic.com/tinysheet/palmos/ .
