Odd horizontal lines on bottom of screen

Every so often when I start up my Tungsten E handheld, theres a small patch of horizontal lines running about 3/4ths across the bottom of the screen. Does anybody know what could cause this and if it could be a potential major problem in the future?

Not sure what could be causing it but I would guess that any screen corruption could be problematic in the future. Contact Palm for advice.
