Exclamation Error: Failed to open Address Book Database

Hi

Im not sure if anyone still has the Palm Desktop Software, but when I came to open it the other day I got this error

'Error: Failed to open Address Book Database'

Unfortunately the data files were not backed up so the only files I have are these that appear to have become corrupt. But then I noticed that the addresses file extension became .dat instead of .aba

I then changed that extension to .aba and then I was able to open Palm Desktop again with no issues. The only problem was the list of addresses were an old list and were now missing some new entries. Although there appeared to be quite a number of addresses called -unnamed- as if these were the orignal addresses that had now become corrupt.

I hope this makes sense. Can anyone help me possibly get back the full list of addresses. Has anyone come across this before?

Regards

Rob
