Default Treo 650 and GPS

Hi, I'd like to buy some software and GPS equipment to use my Palm One Treo 650 as a sat-nav system.

I'd prefer to use the AA's software, but I'm not sure if it's compatiable. I would consider others that contain good UK software. What else do I need to consider? -bluetooth, memory cards, updating software, etc.

Many thanks. Fiona

Welcome to our forums.
Get TomTom5 and all you will need is a car kit.

Thanks Charlie. I have a bluetooth enabled car (which I use for calls on my Treo 650), so if I buy a TomTom Bluetooth Navigator 5 system, will I still be able to make/receive calls while the sat-nav is operating?

I'd probably also subscribe to the TomTom Plus service. Will I be able to receive updates while in the car and my treo is connected via bluetooth?

Thanks again. Fiona

I haven't used TT5 on a Palm product but I've been told when a call is received that TT5 will be terminated and will have to be restarted once the call is completed. This could be due to the limitations of the Palm operating system not being a fully multitasking OS.

I bought TT5 for my Treo 650 a couple of days ago and am delighted with it .

I have received calls whilst running the navigation package and it does shut down the programme ; however on relaunching (which you can programme one of the four front panel buttons to do) the navigation in previously progress resumes straight away .

PS. It is well worth downloading the voice 'Sylvia' who has such a SEXY voice and encourages you with statements such as ' You've reached your destination BUT DON'T STOP JUST YET' or ' Go round the roundabout AND TAKE ME WITH YOU' , or 'Make a U-Turn ahead , GO ON BABY , YOU CAN DO IT'

BTW I used the 'press and hold side button' option in Prefs to give me an instant shortcut to Navigator.
