Tungsten T5/PalmOne TomTom GPS won't work

I've just bought PalmOne TomTom GPS Navigator to use with my T5. The TomTom software is on an SD card, and that's loaded fine. I set bluetooth,and have the PalmOne GPS receiver as a 'trusted device' and it appears to talk to the T5 fine. On Navigator I've set the preferences to configure 'another GPS bluetooth device' but the GPS receiver won't find a satellite - no matter how many hours I leave it or where I try it from (so far in central London, Kent and Teesside) www.totalpda.co.uk are closed to telephone calls (despite it being within their opening hours and I'm frustrated and want to use my new toy! Can anyone help?

On the GPS page does it say NO GPS DEVICE or Signal Lost?
Top right hand side there is a small circle, does that spin round?
