Default PDA for Beginner

Does anyone have any recommendations for a PDA for beginners? I'm fairly new to PDA's, and would appreciate any input forum readers may provide.

I've used the Palm OS previously (though not much) and feel comfortable with it. I'd like a system for holding contacts and managing a calendar. To-do lists and notes may also be a possibility. I have NO plans or NO desires to store pictures, voice files, watch movies, etc. There are a lot of Palms on the market that seem to be more than the basic Palm I need.

Would I be better off finding a used Palm on EBay, or going with a new Palm such as the E2?

Thanks,
CS

The E2 and even the Z-22 will cover what you need. The Z-22 will do everything you have listed but very little else. You might find its a bit limited if you want to do more with it although its also the least expensive option.

You mention regarding the Calendar - is this a requirement to Synchronise with your work (Exchange?) calendar. If so then the Exchange active sync works very well with the palm - very good. You would need to get your exchange administrator to set this up for you at exchange end. Once set up you can sync email and exchange whilst on the go (via mobile (bluetooth) and/or wireless - very easy and very quick. I'd actually recommend one of the better Palms - the Palm T/X is the one I have just got. It has the Wireless and the Bluetooth if your work or home has either of these connection methods it makes the whole sync (other items tasks/contacts etc) process very easy. I can for example synchronise my Palm anywhere at either home or work just by synchronising over the wireless network to my PC. On a negative note the wireless side does suck up the power
