Contacts and SMS Interaction

Hi Guys and Gals, I recently bought a new T3 (my 1st PDA) and TomTom Bluetooth. Superb solution, and very pleased with the combination.

One thing though, when i receive a text message, the From: has the phone number, even if its in my contacts list. I tried placing +44 in front of the entry in the contacts list, but to no avail.

Is it possible for SMS to interrogate the contacts list and show me who sent the text or not ?

I have eleven guys working for me and we keep in touch using SMS so this is kinda important issue for me

Any solutions ??
