Can anyone help

I have a PIN Pocket Pc with Navman Smart St it all works with the exception of the sat nav.When I go to GPS status I have ticked GPS on set it to com port 2 and baud rate 4800 but I still dont get a fix on a satellite
Can anyone advise me on what to do next
