SmartST with a 3rd party gps?

OK, here's the problem...

a while back, I bought the Navman4410 package, including the bluetooth receiver and SmartST v2 software, for my HP Ipaq h1940. Worked fine, until some rather selfish wotsit stole my car, in which I'd stupidly left the GPS receiver. This leads to two questions...

First: Can I purchase another GPS receiver, not neccessarily a NAVMAn unit, that'll work with SmartST v2?

Second, I recently upgraded my phone to a smartphone - an Orange SPV C600 (which uses the Windows Mobile 5 operating system) - can I load SmartST onto that, and again, use a different make of GPS, or am I completely stuffed?
