Question Pin 570 software

New to SatNav and the Navman PIN570, not sure that the SmartST software provided is the best, is there any way to install say TomTom software onto it?? Ads

Welcome to our forums.
I'm sure you can install TomTom on the 570 but I couldn't say how well it will perform not having tried it. I think you may encounter receiver configuration problems though as I think the SmartST software is built into the PINs ROM unless I'm mistaken.

Aha, would this be why I can't persuade Speed Sentry (after market GPS speed warning thing) to recieve the correct GPS signal even though it is set up correctly? Is SmartST 'hogging' the GPS?

yes you can install tom tom on pin 570. i find it far better than smart st. the settings in gps are:- Other Cable NMEA GPS, 9600 Baud, GPS ON NAVIGATOR.

Hi could you explain how to do this as i am having a mare with smart st now it wont save favorites, quick nav's, recents as well as not loading from contacts on my pin 570 even after a soft or hard reset?

Did you get GPS Speed Sentry to work-mine installed ok but just sat there.

Hi, i have installed TomTom5 on my Navman570 but even after setting the config as above, the navman just sits there waiting for a GPS signal.
GPS is turned on in settings, baud is set to 9600 which is what my navman software uses.
Any ideas anyone?
