Default cannot get pin 570 to connect to pc

Hello all, new to this and PDA's, recently received a pin 570 and cannot get the comp and pda to connect. successfully downloaded activesync 3.7 off the disk, and initially the two connected, but since disconnecting everytime I re-connect with the supplied USB cable and click on activesync on the pda, it shows that the two are not connected; i've removed activesync and reloaded it several times and always the same. I would be very grateful if someone could help, as I don't want it to go back.

are you connecting directly to your PC or via usb hub? If hub connect directly to PC
Do you have any firewalls installed? if so disable or grant active sync full rights.
Have you tried to download activesync from www.microsoft.com version 4.1

I had the same problem and resorted to restoring ( XP) back a day and re-installed the auto-sync S/W again and it solved the problem. I do not know why as it installed perfectly first time on the laptop but not on my desktop and they are both XP Dell machines. Regards Peter

finally sorted; boxed it back up and returned to comet, swapped for another and guess what; no problem, hurray, now all I need to do is find out how to download speed camera locations, any clues.

Unhappy Unable to Connect to PC

Contacted NavMan Tech Support
Spent 15 mins talking to one person.
Got rung back by the Senior Tech Support Person in the UK. 'Who has never heard of this problem before.'
Unistalled Firewall, A-virus, Mobile phone software, Sync 3.8 & Re-installed several times, numerous re-boots, after 45 mins he addmitted defeat, & supplied a RMA.
Next Pin570 supplied had a cracked screen - refused to align. Another RMA.
Next unit arrived to-day guess what still refuses to connect to PC currenlty using Sync 3.8
PC AMD3800x2, 2gb Ram, HD 200/250/250Gb
Will try an old Intel P600 with Windows 2k old laptop, no firewall or other progs installed.
Device Not Found, not reconised during hardware search.
it might be plug'n'play, but some device drivers would be extremely useful, as the ones on the supplied cd do not seem to be for this device.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?
