storage card problem pin570

Anybody with trouble writing to the storage card whilst it is in the pda. I can't write to it uless I take it out and put it in a card reader. I get the message write protected or in use. It isn't write protected. I managed to see it once when I shut all thge running programs down. But don't seem to be able to do it again.
This means I can't store any games on it.
