Default TomTom6 (& other software) disappears after flat battery : anyone know how to prevent

Right, you collective mind that is the PIN users...

Installed TomTom 6(.010) on the PIN570 & all working sweet until, having left it off for a while (couple of weeks at the most), on turning on ALL installed software (including TT of course) disappears, causing me to have to do a complete extra software re-install.

So, anyone experienced the same / have any ideas then having to charge constantly to make sure the battery doesn't run down?

Might try & install to the ROM if it'll let me so hope that won't disappear but any other help would be gratefully received.

Thanks!

The following works with TTN5 on a Mio 168, so it's worth a try.

Find the following .CAB files.

engf, engm, gps, PIMAddin, ttn and wzd

Go to Properties in each and tick 'read only' (If you don't do this they will disappear after one use).

Put an empty folder on to your SD card and name it e.g. Recovery.

Copy the above six .cab files into the folder.

In the event of a flat battery you only have to connect to power, navigate to these files and tap each, one at a time, to install each part.

It's recommended batteries are topped up at least once per week.

Hi if there is a backup program on your pin570 (it will be in settings or programmes) use it to backup all the stuff onto your storage / memory card, it only takes a few minutes then if your battery goes flat, you use the restore utility to put the files back where they were before. you will find all you poi's ,favorite's and recent destinations still there
where you last used your gps
Regards steve
