synching file folder ??

hello im new to the world of pda's so please excuse the simple question, can anyone please tell me, when i set up my ipaq 2210 it set up a folder on my computer that if i place files in it will auto synch them with my pda i would like to know the folder it puts them in on my pda can i place this folder onto the compact flash card i have in my pda, this would enable me to store a lot more files on my pda.
