Default 1940 attempting connection

Hi People

I have a HP ipaq 1940 and a Sony Ericsson P900. Both connected via Bluetooth. I can dial out via BT and all is ok. The problem i am having is that i have recently upgraded my Tomtom Nav from 2 to 3 and subsequently the patches from TT web site.
Since i have done this my PDA is attempting to dial out via my phone for no reason and make a Data call. My PDA then gives a message saying Cannot Connect.(didn't want it to anyway).
Anyone with any ideas why this is happening or how i can stop it. OR am i just being stupid and got it set up wrong.

The other thing is, i have recently set up the same PDA with TT for someone else and that would not work on the same Com port as mine. If i change my Com port to the same as his, then mine doesn't work....Any ideas?

Thanks

I also had this problem (Using a 2210). Only way that I managed to solve it was by putting the patches on and then doing a soft reset.

Hope it works.

You could try a hard reset then install TT then setup your BT to your phone after that.

Any data you have input you will lose.
To hard reset press and hold the power and the rest buttons at the same time for about 3 - 5 secs. Let them both go then press the reset button on its own topower the iPAQ on again. If you did it right you will need to calibrate the screen afterwards.

Hi Charlie

I have ROM version 1.00, is it worth downloading 1.10? Also, presumably, i can move everything from Outlook etc and files back to ipaq from PC?

Thanks
Stevex.

The ROM update from 1.00 to 1.10 is supposed to address Bluetooth issues and improves a few other things on the unit so it's probably a benefit to upgrade. Doing a backup through Activesync is easy but after you hard reset you will be asked to create a new partnership...don't do it...just select a guest account and then restore the backup file you created. If you create a new partnership you will not be able to restore your backup file.
