ipaq 3970 v3 ROM ???

just trying to upgrade a 3970 with the pocket pc 39xx 2003 disc from www.totalpda.co.uk and it says it wont upgrade as I only have rom v2.1 not 3.0 ...

Only thing is that hp/compaq don't list a v3.0 ROM patch for the 3970 ... so how is it supposed to work ??
