Unhappy ActiveSync and Schedule +

Hi,

I have a problem at work which isn't going away.

At work we are using a MS Exchange server and clients for our mail and MS Schedule+ 7.0 for our calendars. (I know we are in the dark ages but this isn't going to get better in the short/medium term)

I use MS Outlook for my email client but am unable to use the Calendar function as everyone else is using Schedule+.

I now have a new iPAQ with the last Activesync that will not support Schedule+ at all.

Is there :

1. a solution to get the latest version of ActiveSync to work with MS Schedule+ ?

or

2. a third party product that will synchronize in both directions between Schedule+ and MS Calendar (preferably running in the background on my PC) on a regular basis (i.e. every minute)

Many thanks

Phil.

Synchronising with Schedule+ was a feature of Activesync right up until version 3.1, if you get that version or earlier you should be able to sync with it.

That's true .. but doesn't Pocket PC 2002 and above only work with ActiveSync 3.5 and later ?

http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/activesyncversions.htm says "Windows CE Services 2.x and ActiveSync 3.0, 3.1, and 3.5 are compatible with all Windows CE 2.x and 3.x devices" and if I'm understanding this correctly then 3.0 should work with a PPC2002 device as PPC2002 is WinCE v3.x. It's all a bit confusing at this time of night but have a read yourself and see what you think.

Charlie .. thanks for your help.

I found the text below in another forum so I thought I'd share it with you. It's a registry change that I have now done and Schedule+ now works with ActiveSync 3.7.1 .. problem solved!

"[Posted Nov. 6 2001]If you install ActiveSync 3.5 over a previous ActiveSync version, you canstill synchronize with Schedule+.You need, however, to do some changes in the registry, so use this procedureat your own risk.1) Disconnect your device2) using regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CEServices\Partners\<partnership number>\Services\Synchronization\Objects\Partnership number is unique for all partnerships in your machine, but it isjust a hex number. If you have many devices, you should be able to figureout the correct device from its name: ...\<partnership number>\Display name3) Within Appointment - Task and Contact keys, change the value in "Store"from "MS.WinCE.Outlook" (you may also find "<*Invalid*>" if Outlook is notinstalled in your machine) to "MS.WinCE.SchedulePlus".4) Reconnect your device."Phil.
