Default sync problems with medion pda 100

hi,i recently had to have windows xp reinstalled after a problem with my computer.
But since i got my comp back,i've not been able to resync the device with the computer.
It worked fine before my computer broke,but now it just searches through the com ports(not quite sure what they are)from 1-9,although it doesn't do comport 2,it searches number 1,then onto 3 through to 9.When it has finished searching,all comports are seen apart from 2,which it says is uninstalled?!
I'm using the same usb port as before,and have tried other usb ports to make sure it is working(i know it is,as windows makes a beeping noise when i plug the cradle in the usb port).
I've checked the settings,and this is a picture of my settings:



I'm at a loss as to what to do,i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling activesync,but it just doesn't seem to recognize the device.
Any help would be appreciated,here are the specs:

medion MDPNA10
microsoft pocket ps version 4.20.0
windows mobile 2003

Check your firewall isnt blocking access to activesync.

Microsoft have a fAQ page to check your settings with.
