Am wanting to buy a ppc but don't really know anything about them.
It's for email checking, playing mp33, and for word and excel on the move... save me having to hand write reports then type them when back in office.
oh yeah, going for the wireless lan option and bluetooth too.
Help?

| | Welcome to our forums.
CF = Compact Flash, SD = Secure Digital. Difference - physical size and shape. Both are fine for additional storage dependant on the model of PDA you purchase. |

| | | ok, been doing some looking and thinking about the ipaq 2210.
which type of storage is better as a 'hard drive' for mp3 storage? what things do i need to consider when getting a card? speed? make etc? |

| | | Hi Kailani, I'm new to all this and have been researching for a couple of weeks. I have opted for the HP ipaq 2210 as it is within budget and has a SD and a CF slot which I have read not all do and is very handy.
I looked at many including the ipaq 4150 (around £240 if you shop around) which meets all the requirements you have listed. But I had read some reviews saying that at times it has a yellow tinted screen which put me off and annoyed those with the PDA. I looked at the Dell axim X30 but there were bad reviews of deliveries (i.e. ordering, money being taken and the PDa still not being there after3-5 weeks) and bad customer service.
If money was no object and my husband allowed me I would have got the ipaq 5550, it looked fantastic. (£389 on the internet).
I have a friend though with the ipaq 2210 and was chuffed to bits with it. You can get one for £203 on the internet the only thing is it doesn't have is wireless BUT I understand that you can get an extension card or something for it (If I've got that wrong I'm sure someone on the forum will correct me.) The PDA arrives tomorrow so I'll let you know how it is. Hope that helps. |

| | | it does do bluetooth though doesn't it? and the 4150 doesn't seem as good (poorer processor).
and i agree, the cf and sd is handy so you have more expansion space, but which is the better if you only use one type? any ideas? anyone? |

| | You can use either to store your MP3s. You can get up to 1GB SD cards (maybe even more now) and CF cards even larger than that. |

| | | Yes it does have bluetooth, that's one reason I am getting it to go with the Tom Tom Satnav and my t610 phone. I have also bought a CF card 256mb which you can get for £25.00. I guess you can get one this size and see how it goes. It wouldn't be wasted money and you can always buy a larger one. |
